"There is nothing more satisfying and rejuvenating for the soul
than the peace and quiet of country life;
'Fresh air, wind in your hair, space and time.'
…that’s country life."

Suzanne was born in Grande Prairie, Alberta and raised on a grain farm in the Buffalo Lakes area north-west of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada.

Suzanne started painting and creating as a very young girl. Although art has taken her in many different directions over the years she now works mainly in transparent watercolor, enjoying the spontaneous, fresh and suggestive nature of the medium. Mainly self taught, she has attended workshops as well as the Red Deer College Summer Series Art Program. She has developed her skill mainly through practice, experimentation, personal study and enjoyment of many art forms.

"I feel that art is an expressive connection between the artist and viewer;
a way to communicate ones vision and understanding of a place, situation, and way of life."

Suzanne enjoys a variety of art forms including watercolours, oil painting, airbrush painting, pencil drawings and pottery. Having lived all her life in the country in northwestern Alberta, she feels fortunate to have the never ending landscapes, people and its history from which to create. Her inspiration is derived from scenes of Western Canadian landscape, including prairie vistas, northern forests and rivers, scenes of the rocky mountains, and people who work and play here in their everyday lives.

"Through my art I try to share my personal love and appreciation for my surroundings,
the never ending landscapes, its’ people and history."

Suzanne is currently a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, the Alberta Society of Artists and the Peace Watercolour Society. She has taught a variety of watercolour workshops. Suzanne works from her “Canvas & Clay Art Studio” in the country, and has been represented by the Front Gallery in Edmonton from 2002 – 2006 and by Unique Gallery in Grande Prairie for over 20 years.

Her works are included in many private collections across Canada, the US and many international countries including Britain, Germany, Sweden, New Zealand, Africa, Australia and Norway to name a few.

"I paint what I enjoy and endeavour to share with the viewer
what inspires me to create."
